I had a hauler that I worked with exclusivly, he had a daughter that went with him on his rounds from time to time. I had dealt with her in the past and she was a very pushy person when she wanted something. I had told her that Popcorn wasn't for sale on more than one occasion and I had told her why and what she meant to us.

I went to Vegas on a business trip and left my son in charge of letting a horse leave that was due to get on a trailer for her new home. This person came in while I was gone and my son was there and pushed and pushed him to sell her. He couldn't reach me cause I was on the rd and told her no several times. But she kept pushing and pushing until he let her go.

When I had left I checked her bag to see where she was at with the coming foal. We were all VERY excited to have the new baby around. Her bag was swollen and she was just starting to get milk, remember she was a young maiden mare and had never had a foal before. I paniced and spent most of my time in Vegas on the phone trying to get him to turn his truck around. He promised me that he'd take care of things and get her back to me on his next trip through in a few weeks. So I let him take her home with him, trusting that everything would be back to normal shortly and that he knew she was due anytime.

What a nightmare this whole thing turned into, excuse after excuse for not getting her home, constant arguements about wether she was bred or not. Like I'm a fool with no idea what a pg mare looks like! Specialy a maiden mare!!!

3 months later I started to push harder and harder to get her home, I was done with the whole excuses thing and was done with games and fed up and wanted my horse back home now!I called every police station and the local humane society and everyone I could think of to put on the pressure to get her back home, 1,300 miles away. Still according to them no foal yet, humane society said no foal with her when she saw her but that she was healthy/thin and she seriously doubted that she was still pg!!!

I finaly hired a hauler to bring her home, which I think is totaly wrong since I never gave him permission to take her off my property in the first place!! I spent many long tiring hours on the computer and phone calling every hauler I could find trying to get anyone that would help me get her home. Most didn't even want to get involved, not that I could blame them. The person that had her promissed that he wouldn't cause any trouble but who knows what could happen in the situation.

I finaly contacted Trick Pony Express, what caring loving people!!! They were in the area and could get her the very next day!!! They are my hero's, I tell you what, he drove and she talked with me almost nonstop while they got her and brought her home 2 days later! They trimmed her feet for me, and they brushed her and had her all spit shiny before she got off the trailer. All they thought on the sly! I just can't say enough for these people, they were a blessing and I doubt that I would have ever got her home without their help..

The mini that got off the trailer was a good 75lbs lighter than the mini that left. All lost in the tummy, her bag was drying up and there was no foal!!!! I can't press charges though, come in steal my horse, take her unborn foal and I can't press charges!!! They want me to prove beyond any doubt with DNA tests that the foal is mine and since the stallion she was bred to is lost and God only knows where I can't do that. You can imagine that my children are all crushed, my hubby that has never shown much excitement for the horses was VERY excited about Popcorns foal and eager to play with the new baby. A baby that we'll never see or touch or have, because of some weirdo freak that wanted to make a buck and cared nothing for the horses other than the money she could make off of them! She advertises on Dreamhorse, ponies for sale, generic add in Oregon! Be warned be wary, any ponies or horses you might buy from her just very well might be stollen!!!

This was taken about a week before she was stollen

Popcorn the day she got

off the trailer

Her bag the day she got off the trailer, you can't tell me that's a maiden mares bag..
